Web based IDE? Sounds cool!

April 5th, 2011 by admin

One of the cool thing with WebOS and the Cloud concept is that computational power of the personal computer required to complete task reduced a lot. Tasks are moved to the cloud at the same time and performed on the server or distributed networks of servers… It is a separate topic on its own and I am not going to argue advantages and disadvantages of cloud and webos but rather highlight another use of it as Web based IDE.

Imagine that teams of programmers no longer require to setup environments on their PCs and in order to work on the project they log in from different parts of the world and do familiar operations but no longer on their PC but via Web IDE. It eliminates the need for people to have setup on their PCs and work can be done from terminal like PC – tablet PC, working from home or other trusted location, or reviewing the code, triggering build from the smart phone, etc. Great application!

Went to Wollongong and done Skydive with “Skydive the Beach Sydney” – great experience! Everyone should do it at least once. Unforgettable and can’t be compared to anything. I had silly smile for I think 20 min after I’ve done it and I wanted to repeat it right away! Highly recommended!

If you trying to setup JSF2 + IceFaces + Hibernate + Spring in Maven2 pom you are risking of loosing so much time if you do it from scratch… Trust me I did until I came accross this great post. This blog has archetypes prepared for different flavours of libraries which is a great starting point for setting up a new application development.

Have a look and spare yourself from frustration!

Thanks Robert for a superb work!

Yea… was playing for sometime and got some skills as Engineer and Recon… Looking forward to Battlefield3 but need to upgrade my graphics for that probably. Graphics looks awesome in the teaser.

Was wondering if anyone got control in the form of gun that you can point on to screen and shoot. Would be fun isnt it?

Ok, folks… meet you on the battle field… B)
